With the start of Men's Tournament, CEV EuroBeachVolley 2024 saw another great day with 16 total games played in the three venues The Hague, Apeldoorn and Arnhem, with Olympic medals on the sand and big upset served on court.
In Arnhem's Pool A N.1 of the Seed Frenchmen Aye/Bassereau easily won 2-0 (21-11, 21-19) over N.32 Austrians Seisser/Grossig, while in Pool B in The Hague, N.2 of the Seed Italians Marchetto/Windisch got an easy 2-0 win (21-17, 21-15) over N.31 Austrians Schnetzer/Kindl.
In Apeldoorn's Pool C Norwegians Mol/Berntsen took home a battled 2-1 win (24-22, 19-21, 15-7) versus Czechs Semerad/Dumek, N.30 of the Seed, while fresh Silver Medallist at Olympics Germans Ehlers/Wickler defeated 2-0 (21-18, 21-18) home team Penninga/Heemskerk. The German duo is among the favourites for the final win.
In Pool D in The Hague, N.4 of the seed, Italians Dal Corso/Viscovich lost 1-2 (14-21, 21-18, 13-15) by N.20 Polish Kantor/Zdybek, starting the Tournament with a false step.
Pool E in Apeldoorn saw the 2-0 win (21-17, 21-13) of Dutches Boermans/De Groot, N.5 of the Seed, over Polish Janiak/Brozyniak, while n Pool F in The Hague N.6 of the Seed Polish Losiak/Bryl (POL) lost 0-2 (18-21, 18-21) by N.27 Swiss Metral/Haussener.
Still in The Hague, in Pool G, it was a strong 2-0 win (21-14, 21-18) for experienced Italians Cottafava/Nicolai, N.7 of the Seed, over N.26 Dutches Sengers/Boehlé.
In Pool H in Arnhem N.8 of the Seed Germans Pfretzschner, L./Winter unfortunately lost due injury versus Latvians Plavins/Fokerots.
Upsets and confirms in first day of Pools at CEV EuroBeachVolley 2024 in The Netherlands, approaching next day, to set the Men's Round of 24 which will start on friday.
