Home favourites Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon will play the opening match of the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2024 on August 13. The setting is the iconic Market Square in Apeldoorn. The most successful Dutch women’s pair of the past few years will play their remaining pool matches in Apeldoorn as well.

Dutch crowd favourites Stam and Schoon will be vying for the European podium on home soil

The 2024 edition of CEV EuroBeachVolley will run from August 13 to 18. It is the fourth time that the Netherlands are hosting the European Beach Volleyball Championships following previous continental events held there in 2006, 2012, and 2018. Besides Apeldoorn, matches will be played in Arnhem and on Scheveningen beach (in the outskirts of the Hague) as well.

Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon have been in contention for the top prizes in all the most recent editions of EuroBeachVolley. In 2021, they battled their way to silver in Vienna. A year later, they finished with a bronze around their necks in Munich. After finishing ninth in 2023, the duo will be keen to return to the podium on home soil.

They are currently in excellent form. During the last three prestigious Elite16 tournaments of the Beach Pro Tour, Stam and Schoon competed for top places until the last day. In Tepic, Mexico, they won silver back in April. Last weekend, a bronze medal was added to their resume in Espinho, Portugal.

The iconic Market Square in Apeldoorn will welcome EuroBeachVolley again after already doing so in 2018

Because of their very solid and consistent performances, a ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympics has almost been bagged by Stam and Schoon. The European Beach Volleyball Championship in the Netherlands takes place almost immediately after the Olympics. In short, it is the perfect moment to see Olympians (and perhaps even Olympic medal winners) in action up close.

The detailed schedule will be announced in due time, but in the ticket shop you can already see where and when Dutch duos will be in action. Prices vary from € 12.50 (morning session) to € 30 (finals). In addition, special tickets for children (4-12 years) are available as well, which can be ordered in combination with a regular ticket.
