Beach Volleyball is a mainly outdoor sand-based court sport played between two teams of two players. The aim of the game is to hit a ball over a net and make it land in the opposition’s half, or so that the opponent cannot send it back within the allocated three touches.
It became an Olympic sport in Atlanta 1996, after a successful demonstration event was held in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympics.
Beach Volleyball’s popularity has rocketed since with millions of people playing the sport on a weekly basis and major events taking place in some of the world’s most iconic locations regularly.
