Bash Brothers Brouwer/Meeuwsen bring the big hits

Aptly named “The Bash Brothers", Dutch players Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen make up for their lack of subtly with ferocious power in their arm swings and a penchant for bouncing balls off the sand and into the stands. And with the physical capabilities of the team, it is not a surprise that they decided to opt for a power game rather than a skill game. Brouwer is the shorter of the two at 198cm, towering over most defenders, and Meeuwsen is even larger at 206cm.

If you are tuning into EuroBeachVolley 2021 to see massive, highlight-reel, YouTube-worthy hits, then The Bash Brothers are your team for the tournament. Every match that they play you are guaranteed to have at least a couple hits that leave your jaw on the floor. And the added benefit of a team that swings this hard is that you also will probably see some monster blocks and spectacular digs.

Brouwer/Meeuwsen have recently won the World Tour even in Ostrava, where they defeated the Czech pair Ondrej Perusic & Daveid Schweiner. In EuroBeachVolley, they will take on compatriots Stefan Boermans & Yarick De Groot in Pool E, and should be favourites to make it out of the group.
