There will be no shortage of star power on the men’s tournament of the 2024 CEV EuroBeachVolley as the entry list has been released just under two months before the start of the event.

Åhman and Hellvig will try to win their third-straight EuroBeachVolley title

With most of the world’s best teams, including many who will be contending for medals at the Paris Olympics one week before, the 32nd edition of the EuroBeachVolley is set to take place across the Dutch cities of The Hague, Arnhem and Apeldoorn from August 13-18.

The ten European teams that earned a spot at Paris 2024 via the Olympic Rankings will all make the trip to the Netherlands to fight for continental glory right after the Games, as well as Czechs Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner, who qualified with their victory at last year’s Beach Volleyball World Championships. The list of Olympic teams competing at the 2024 EuroBeachVolley could grow by two depending on which duos France select to represent the host country at the Olympic tournament.

Returning to the Dutch sand for the first time since 2018, the 2024 EuroBeachVolley will have duos from 16 different countries competing for the medals on the men’s side. Hosts the Netherlands will have five teams in action, followed by Austria, with four, and Germany and Italy, with three each.

The winners of the last two editions of the tournament, Swedish stars David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig will try to become just the fourth team in the continent to complete an EuroBeachVolley three-peat.

Olympic champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum of Norway, who won four in a row from 2018 to 2021, with their first victory happening in The Hague, will also be determined to return to first place after taking bronze in 2022 and missing out on the podium last season.

Mol and Sørum could become the first team with five victories

Besides Swedish and Norwegians, three other past European champions will be in action in the Netherlands in a few weeks – Italian Paolo Nicolai (2014, 2016, 2017) and Spanish Pablo Herrera (2005, 2013) and Adrián Gavira (2013).

Following the Drawing of Lots, the 32 teams will be split into eight pools of four, with the best three advancing to the elimination rounds, which will begin with 24 duos.
